“I will accept any rules that you feel necessary to freedom. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”
~ Robert A. Heinlein,The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress
AIR, three components of sentient beings in a paradigm essential to all people in all walks of life; they stem from the roots of who you are in everlasting life.
As a sentient being you are endowed with the ability to think, which means you are naturally developing your spiritual heredity to one degree or another since we are all unique beings and no two paths are the same.
Like it or not, thinking is the foundation of a spiritual being. You are so free to think that you may think whatever you desire, therefore manifesting whatever you are. The difference between sentient beings and bots is that we think using our imagination while bots are programmed using machine learning and other types of techniques - except imagination and willpower.
The rub is this, as you think so will you create. Or, put another way, your thoughts arise from your predominant habits, and your habits are driven by your intentions which are in turn arising from your roots - the very essence of your consciousness of which is everlasting.
Keep in mind that there is always a delay from what you think until the appearance or manifestation of the content to that thinking.
When you are in a mode of worry or doubt you have terminated your ability to create a joyous outcome and instead placed yourself on a track that will surely bring you the content of your doubt and worries.
If you are stipulating that you never get what you want, or that your life is confusing and you are not sure which turn to take, or if you have just arrived at a drastic. unexpected modification in your life - in other words, if you living a thought process based on a core belief that you are not creating your life, the AIR process provides the steps to put your hands on the steering wheel of your life.
“So when worry has you by the throat, the simplest way to break its grip is to do something that you enjoy doing.”
~ Norman Vincent Peale, Positive Imaging
“The men who are cursed with the gift of the literal mind are the unfortunate ones who are always busy with their nets and neglect the fishing.”
Rabindranath Tagore, Sadhana : The Realisation of Life
My promise to you is as you authentically apply AIR to your specific circumstances, the more meaningful modification(s) you will experience over the coming months and years.
So that we are in alignment about timing, in self-development work, the only equity you have or create is sweat equity - your own self-effort. No one can do your development for you. And this is not about overnight results.
Self-development is a process of understanding and building a relationship with you, the everlasting you, which goes at the speed of you imbibing your own wisdom with your intuitive abilities. Yes, this is the content they do not teach you in high school or college but nevertheless, it’s AIR is continually the nuts and bolts to construct successful living experiences.
Obviously, there are many degrees to each of the steps below and this article does not cover them in full detail. However, the intent here is to provide the reader with methods to identify a framework in each step that is easily applied to personal life circumstances, which then affords the reader support to drill down into specific life experiences and uncover refreshed potential experiences.
The objective of AIR is to have participants connect to a broader deeper degree of cultivating their stream of unique inner wisdom which in turn unlocks a natural ability to recognize in-the-moment opportunities to refine experiences and outcomes.
“You have to think greater than the way you feel to make any real, lasting changes.”
~ Dr. Joe Dispenza, Becoming Supernatural
Habits are set forth from the day we are born. For the most part, habits are invisible and more of an automatic way of speaking, thinking, or behaving. The goal of this step is to unravel your “automatic mode” to examine your intrinsic values.
Success here means you have to go through times of uncomfortableness while you look in the corners and under the rugs of your personal nature. For example, if your relationship at wt with a co-worker is what you want to adjust, then it requires you to examine the variables around that relationship/environment which can lead to examining additional segments of your life. As the old saying goes, “Everything is connected.”
The achievement of identifying your habits of thinking, speaking, and/or behaving can only be accomplished by upholding mentations that investigate the coalescing of your experiences.
Everything starts with a thought.
For example, I am hungry then you go to get food. I am lonely, then you seek companionship. I need more money, then you set down the path to acquire more money.
The key here is to identify what you think about and then watch where that thinking takes you.
Those thinking results produce an outcome in terms of speaking or behaving. The thinking is the cause and the outcome is the result.
Most people go through life with a knee-jerk reaction to just about everything. As you discover your habits you will find yourself thinking before you speak or going into a situation/experience with a preordained outcome expectation that you discovered with your imitation and willpower.
The next question for you to contemplate is whether the outcome contributes to or detracts from your intentions.
Not sure about your intentions?
It's time to write down some intentions for yourself. Call then goals or objectives - whatever term you like. But your intentions are your steering wheel. In times of doubt, you must have a method to ensure you are on track for your favored outcomes and that is the steering wheel. Knowing your steering wheel is the root of your confidence, it’s knowing where you want to go, what direction is necessary to arrive there, and most importantly having the trust in yourself that you will arrive there.
To get started use something easy. For example, habits around food cravings.
Or, jump right into the shark tank by identifying contributing/detrimental habits around relationships or raising children.
Lastly, doing this type of work on yourself - this self-development work - is intimate. It may be a wise choice to keep it to yourself. After all, this type of effort is not based on trying to prove yourself to anyone else or justify anything or any segment of your life. Instead, this work is about building a bond with your inner self - that segment of you which IS everlasting consciousness.
This is about you and your habits. If you find yourself making a judgment or opinion of other people while doing an investigation, give yourself a gentle nudge to return your focus to you and leave everyone else out of this. You are figuring yourself out not explaining why every else in your life does or does not, fit your expectations.
There are four horsemen of criticism, defensiveness, stonewalling and contempt that I read about in Blink, The Power of Thinking Without Thinking, by Malcolm Gladwell. He applies them to marriage.
I believe those four habits can be applied to any relationship or situation. If you are not sure where to begin with your self-investigation, I suggest starting with one of those four. Contemplate their characteristics and review your significant relationships, your work environment, and your home life. From there you can drill down into what habits of your provoke one of those types of responses from you.
In this first phase of investigation, you are looking at yourself. There is no blame or judgment being made to you by you, or more importantly, by you to anyone else.
This is an organic search based on learning more about the nuts and bolts of your thinking.
In order to be a happier more successful person it requires the thinking [cause} that produces those desired outcomes [effect].
For example, you want to have a nurturing relationship with your spouse. This requires that you examine your habits around your spouse. Next with those thinking habits identified, what new thinking [cause] will replace existing thinking to produce a deeper nurturing experience [effect]?
In the second phase of the investigation, take time to see how you are applying your imagination and willpower to your lifestyle.
For example, look at where you find criticism, defensiveness, stonewalling, or contempt in your lifestyle. Ask yourself the potent question: “How can I replace ______ with __________?”
For example, how can I replace my criticism of _____ with more joyful thinking? which may lead to a simple answer ….. I will begin now to focus my attention on noticing the good behaviors/thinking of ____.
The point is not to get stuck on the answer to that question, but rather once you know it then you can replace it. The goal of phase two here is to replace the deterrence with a contributing process that you consciously create with your imagination and will.
I believe the answers to many questions will be as simple as the example provided above.
Do you really want to improve your life experience?
Modify your old habit that was one of the horsemen, to reorient your focus to observe the good qualities, and the positive attributes in people and situations.
Remember, we are talking about the difference between leaving a default life or actually putting your hands on the steering wheel so that you drive at your intentions stated above, derived from a beneficial process created with your willpower.
The two phases in this investigative phase fortify your grit as a self-conscious creator in this adventure called life. Your results here organically enrich the quality of your journey.
Lastly, doing this phase of work you cultivate your ability to imbibe your inner wisdom. People who have not attempted #1, or this step, do not hold the depth of comprehension that you now have, nor should they until they are ready to make those steps by themself. There is never any judgment to be placed on another around the lifestyle they choose to live. Sharing your inner wisdom with others can be a risky endeavor especially when it detracts from your self-confidence.
“We pass for what we are. Character teaches above our will. Men imagine that they communicate their virtue or vice only by overt actions, and do not see that virtue and vice emit a breath every moment.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
As time goes by you will experience actual results in making modifications to your thinking, speaking, and behaviors, or maybe you have seen refreshed manifestations delivered by your efforts. Those results will boost you to extended levels of self-confidence and trust in your innate abilities.
There is no plateau in self-development. The ongoing efforts made build on the previous efforts and at some point in time, there will arrive the ability to notice in real time what is taking place. This is similar to waking up in a dream and saying to yourself, “Oh this is a dream and I am awake in it.”
In real-time, during a conversation or experience, you make a choice in the moment to express a refinement in your habits because you have a sense that is the best thing for the outcome that you have preplanned.
Real-time refinements are a natural process that is a direct result of you enhancing your level of personal power.
“In self-trust all the virtues are comprehended.
Fear always springs from ignorance.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
My goal is to support your individual efforts to drill down and explore your own being, and your relationship with your everlasting consciousness. At best AIR is a doorway and a flashlight where you can set up a station with more robust lighting to research your experiences to set forth refreshed potential outcomes in your abilities of emotions, thinking, relationships, and most importantly how you perceive yourself.
If you are looking to improve monetary wealth in your life, and are disappointed I have not mentioned it until now, go bask to #1 above. Financial success is laid forth in your habits. When you are tuned into yourself, at the moment, and being/doing what you love financial success will be an avalanche.
