"Reality is important but perception is more important."
~ Winston Churchill

I find poetry, like music, to be full of doorways where I can soothingly escape.

You know, those times where the mind has taken an overbearing crunch and nothing but a steely tone is resonating in my bones?

In those moments, when I am lucky, I remember to find some verses or tunes and relish being sentient - again.

"To live a pure unselfish life, one must count nothing as one's own in the midst of abundance.
~ Buddha

"At the heart of the cyclone tearing the sky, And flinging the clouds and towers and by, There is a place of central calm. So, hear in the roar of mortal things I have a place where my spirit sings, In the hollow of God’s hand."
~ Edward Markham

"We have seen that in order to be powerful we have to submit to the laws of the universal forces, and to realise in practice that they are our own. So, in order to be happy, we have to submit our individual will to the sovereignty of the universal will, and to feel in truth that it is our own will. When we reach that state wherein the adjustment of the finite in us to the infinite is made perfect, then pain itself becomes a valuable asset. It becomes a measuring rod with which to gauge the true value of our joy. "
~ Rabindranath Tagore

"Nature is an inexhaustible storehouse of riches; the supply will never run short. Original Substance is alive with creative energy, and is constantly producing more forms. The Formless Stuff responds to the needs of man; it will not let him be without any good thing."
~ W. wattles

"Once seeing is better than an hundred times telling about."
~ Japanese proverb

~ Psalms 91-2

"Spirit is the Source of All Energy; Mind is static energy; Thought is dynamic energy. These are the three phases of the same “thing.""
~ Rabind Rama Bodhisat, I-A (11)

"My beautiful one, born of pure radiance, you have love in your heart and a passion for play that cannot be dulled by bleakness, boredom or fear."
~ Rumi

"Thinking: the talking of the soul with itself."
~ Plato

"Oh, while I live, to be the ruler of life, not a slave, to meet life as a powerful conqueror, and nothing exterior to me shall ever take command of me. "
~ Walt Whitman

"I will make you a mixtape that is a blue print of my soul."
~ Jamie Cullen

"We are perceivers. We are an awareness; we are not objects, we have no solidity. We are boundless. The world of objects and solidity is a way of making our passage on earth convenient. It is only a description that was created to help us. We, or our reason, forget that the description is only a description and thus we entrap the totality of ourselves in a vicious circle which we rarely emerge in our lifetime."
~ Don Juan

"Imaging is a kind of laser beam of the imagination, a shaft of mental energy in which the desired goal or outcome is pictured so vividly by the conscious mind that the unconscious mind accepts it and is activated by it. This releases powerful internal forces that can bring about astonishing changes in the life of the person who is doing the imaging."
~ Norman Vincent Peale

"We impress the Objective world by the conscious expression of Mind whether by word or action. We impress the Subjective world with Thought. When we have developed the ability to control Thought we are in control of our physical condition as well as every condition in and of our live and affairs. In the control of Thought we control environment and the condition of our life and affairs. "
~ Rabind Rama Bodhisat, I-A (11)
